ABOUT TRUE PORTRAITS
A calm, considered approach to portrait photography
People come to True Portraits for different reasons.
Some feel awkward in front of the camera.
Some simply want portraits that feel natural, flattering, and genuinely like them.
That’s exactly why True Portraits exists.
I’m not interested in forcing expressions, rushing people through poses, or turning photography into a performance. My approach is slow, relaxed, and personal — giving you time to settle and be yourself.
Photographing people where they feel comfortable
We don’t work from a traditional studio.
Instead, we come to you — either in your home with a simple, unobtrusive studio setup, or somewhere outdoors nearby that feels familiar and comfortable.
Before we meet, we’ll talk things through properly. I’ll prepare in advance so nothing feels improvised or rushed. On the day, everything is kept calm and unhurried. There’s no pressure to “get it right”.
Flattering portraits, without heavy retouching
We believe a good portrait should look like you.
That means careful lighting, gentle guidance when needed, and minimal editing. I’ll tidy small distractions, but I won’t change your face or smooth away what makes you who you are.
The aim is a portrait that feels natural, flattering, and timeless — not over-processed or artificial.
A supportive presence throughout
My wife works alongside me during portrait sessions. Her presence helps create a relaxed, reassuring atmosphere, particularly for anyone who feels nervous or unsure at first.
It’s a small detail, but one that makes a genuine difference to how comfortable people feel during the shoot.
Is True Portraits right for you?
* True Portraits is for people who want:
* a calm, unrushed experience
* portraits that feel genuine rather than staged
* to look and feel like themselves in photographs
* to be photographed without feeling judged or pressured
If you’re looking for something rushed, heavily over-processed, or impersonal, then it probably isn’t the right fit — and that’s absolutely fine.
